Moses Flees: Exodus 2:11-25
v. 12 "so he looked this way and that way"
This verse may not seem signifiicant, but it is exactly what we do when we're about to sin, or do something wrong. We want to make sure no one is looking. Problem is, someone is always watching, even if it's just God. He knows all things. We should really think twice about any action that causes us to have to look around before we act.
v. 13-15 Moses flees
We see here consequences to Moses' actions. Something we can discuss with our kids here is simple, think through consequences to your actions. What happens when we react to conflict as opposed to thinking things through before we act?
v. 16-25 Waiting on God
God is always preparing us for something. He's always forging us in the fire, so to speak. Moses spent much time in the desert, and he probably thought God forgot all about him. We find out tomorrow the thruth of this. The Isaelites too felt God had forgotten them, but it is clear at the end of this chapter that, "God heard their groaning, and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob."
We have to remember, God never forgets His promises to us. We may not always understand our circumstances, but we can trust God knows what He is doing.
Final thoughts for today:
Think of how you might handle the life situation your in today. Think through your actions this week. Did you have to look this way or that before anything you did this week? How have you responded to those around you this week? What is God preparing you to do?
Have a great day, I'll have more to say tomorrow.
